Be a part of a 20 year-plus tradition! By combining education with recreation, particpants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, surfing, body boarding, bodysurfing, snorkeling and skills competitions.  Our goal is to educate young people in ocean and beach safety while building self-confience and appreciation for the environment.

If you are interested in becoming a Junior Lifeguard Assistant, you must be between the ages of 14-17 years old and have prior experience in the Junior Lifeguard program (at least one year). To apply for a position, you will need to register and send a letter of intent (via email: ) to the Junior Lifeguard Coordinator. The letter needs to include:

 

     • Name and contact information (including an email address).

     • Why you are interested in being an assistant.

     • Background and Experience.

     • Minimum of one reference.

     • Which sessions you are available to volunteer for.

     • You must register for the session(s) that you would like to Aide.

 

Candidates not selected for an Aide position will be refunded, minus a $2.50 transaction fee.  For additional Junior Lifeguard Aide information, click here.

 

Hours are flexible.  Aides can participate half-day (9am to 12pm or 1pm-4pm) or full-day (9am to 4pm)

 

2 Week Sessions - 9AM - 4PM, MONDAY - FRIDAY

 

Beach Kids is our new program for 6-8 year-olds.  Session dates and times match our Junior Guard sessions to make it easy on your schedule.  Beach Kids is a perfect introduction to many of skills and activities that Junior Guards learn.  Find more information at EncinitasBeachKids.com.
